Alexander Wang cropped trench (similar look here),
Vince sweater tee,
Zara snakeskin print skirt (similar style here),
Silver necklace from Morocco,
Alexander Mcqueen quilted tote bag (last seen here and here),
14th and Union suede booties.

I finally had a chance to get some of my Spring clothing staples out of storage, and in so doing was happier than ever to find this Alexander Wang cropped trench from a few seasons ago: my go-to coverup during this time of year.

Leave it to Wang to take a simple trench coat, slice it short, and infuse it with those special details that make it stand out even more: double-breasted buttons, a loose, voluminous shape, and origami-esque creases on the shoulders.

I love how the color of the trench picks up the beige tones in the snakeskin print skirt, while the statement necklace gives the look a more exotic edge. My mom brought this necklace back for me after a trip to Morocco, and it's quickly become one of my favorite pieces. Jewelry makes one of the best souvenirs while traveling.

  6. Arg, I still have to get all my spring things out of storage but I'm way to lazy to even attempt doing that. All that unfolding and hanging, forget it. Haha but good thing you did, I love that spring jacket! And your mom has great taste, that necklace is beautiful.

  7. Your last sentence rings loud and true...is there anything better than bringing back a great bit of jewelry from a trip?! Wrote about a necklace I picked-up in Mexico a few weeks back. LOVE.
