Wild at Heart

7.13.2012

Zipper tank c/o Astars,
H and M tulip skirt (similar style here),
Mossimo studded belt,
Rebecca Minkoff mini mac
Rose Gold wedges.

Micol is obsessed with this band called Future Islands, so when she found out they were playing a show in Brooklyn the other night it was imperative that we score tix. Little did we know that the nearby venue they performed at, Death by Audio, was a low-ceilinged, two-room, un-airconditioned, basement-like space. For this reason, we also could not have foreseen that by the end of the show everyone would be drenched in sweat and beer. We're talking drenched.

Had I known what I know now, I definitely would not have worn anything more than cutoffs and a tank top to the show. But I decided to wear out this outfit at the time. Smart. Let's just say, every item needs to be dry-cleaned immediately... but it was totally worth it.

Oh and props to anyone who knows and loves the movie that this tank references... I think it's one of my all-time favorite flicks.
xL

Micol's Note:
This is a new track they played...I still get goosebumps....if you can see them live I highly recommend it. Click through to purchase and definitely check out their latest album on iTunes.

  11. OMG I was just about to say before I read the rest of the post, do you know that I am completely obsessed with the movie wild hearts can't be broken?? I used to pretend to jump on a horse while I was going off the diving board into my pool. I was a really cool kid. Obviously I love that shirt! And the best concerts are always the ones where you get covered in beer, its some sort of rule haha.

  12. Super-cool outfit. Too bad it had such a rough night... but as you said, that's what dry cleaners are for. ;) I just checked out Future Islands, as I've never heard of them before, and they are really good!! Thanks for sharing! :)

  18. I love this edgy look on you! The top is so cute and I love that you're worn the tulip skirt with it. So unexpected, but so perfect!
I hope you had fun at the concert. Sometimes those venues are the best places to see a band, but it really does suck when you aren't dressed properly for it. At least you looked hot!!

Hope you're having an amazing weekend :)
