Valette marbled blouse, Zara acid wash denim skirt (similar here), Thrifted hat (via Buffalo Exchange), Vintage printed bucket bag (I love this one too), Scarab ring c/o Stephen Dweck, Spike ladder necklace (similar here), Hinge wedge booties (similar here). Shot by Isaac Lacey.
I guess the Southwestern feel of this outfit is what made that novel come to mind, but really though, who wouldn't want to be a badass cowgirl? This skirt is probably one of the oldest items in my wardrobe: a piece I think I've had since middle school if you can believe it. I bought it while on a trip to Spain and never let go. I love the subtle acid wash, and I've never seen denim in this faded rose color since. I decided to keep the color palette neutral with brown accessories and a fun, abstract print, then topped it all off with some fun jewelry, including this new scarab ring that was custom-made for me by jewelry designer Stephen Dweck. Historically scarabs are thought to convey eternity: a little reminder that fate and destiny are at work in your life and to look beyond the ordinary and see magic in the everyday. So what better way to remind yourself than wearing it on your finger?
