Basic doesn't always have to be a negative thing. While no one wants to be deemed a 'basic bitch' (a phrase I personally love and probably have been overusing lately), when it comes to fashion basic has won its own rightful place in our hearts. From super soft tees & sweaters to the perfect pair of jeans or shorts, they say every wardrobe should be grounded in a few great (basic) staples and built from there. And while I'm not normally a jeans and tee kind of girl (except when I'm really lazy) it's fun to tone things down once in awhile.
The above look is my take on a basic look, though I replaced your standard tee with a Bardot top, one of my new favorite additions to my closet. I've been loving off-the-shoulder pieces lately, and this one goes with everything, all while imparting an easy-going, vintage vibe to any outfit you wear it with. To step things up a bit, I topped off the look with rose gold accessories: from an old pair of strappy Zara heels down to a chain link watch.
What's your favorite wardrobe basic?
