Slouchy Knits

9.23.2014

River Island knit cardigan (similar here), Vintage Def Jam tee (cut into a tank), Marion pants c/o Chaiken (30% off sitewide with code: Marcystop30), French Connection crossbody bag (similar here), Dorothy Perkins sunglasses, Antique rings, Jessica Biales signet ring, Coach Josie heels (also seen here). Shot by Isaac Lacey.

Once in awhile it's nice to take a break from dressing up and keep things low key and casual. Though in New York it seems like these occasions are few and far between, it's great to be ready for them when they arise, which is why I've stocked up on a variety of comfortable but fashion-forward pants (like this super stretchy pair by Chaiken), vintage tees and oversized sweaters that I truly believe will never lead me astray. When worn with a pair of structured heels or flats, the combination acquires just the right amount of polish so that I don't need to fear being seen in public, whereas in reality I feel as comfortable as if I was wearing baggy sweatpants and an oversized tee. What's your go-to casual look?

I also scored a little shopping deal for you below, so check it out! If you're not familiar with Chaiken's site they've got the perfect comfy & sophisticated separates... like the pants I'm wearing above, which actually make me feel like a superhero.

  5. My casual go-to look would be a little skirt or shorts or skort, combined with all-star sneakers, an eye-catching bag and a shirt around the waist just in case it gets chilly. This is great too and I love this cardigan, seems so warm and looks great on you. The shoes are amazing, can't even describe how much I loved them!
