Leather Love

10.18.2014

Jbrand leather trench (also seen here), Vintage Gucci bandage blouse, Cheap Monday high waisted jeans, Quay Eyewear Kitti sunglasses, Dorothy Perkins bag (just seen here), Vintage scarf, Calf hair oxfords c/o Gilt x Glamour. Shot by Isaac Lacey.

Is there anything better than Fall layering? Cozy sweaters, soft scarves, oversized jackets, creamy leathers.  As a California girl I never really understood how to layer until I came to NYC for college (I also think in high school I only wore open-toed shoes if you can believe it) and then it felt like a whole new world was revealed to me. Take this cognac leather trench, for example. I would have never had a need for it in LA, but now it's impossible for me to imagine living without. I only wish you could feel how buttery soft it is.

Admittedly, I still get a bit overzealous every Fall and splurge on an assortment of cold weather accessories and essentials. Even on my current trip through Italy (we just arrived in Bolzano for the wedding, which I can't believe takes place on Saturday!) I insisted that we make a stop at the Sermoneta store in Venice to see if I could pick up a pair of their colorful gloves. To my surprise, two of the friends I'm traveling with also walked out with pairs of their own: the quality of the leather and construction were too good to pass up! I can't wait to add them to my slowly growing collection of luxury leather goods back at home.

  7. I may not be able to feel the softness of your leather trench, dear Lauren...but I can certainly admire that lovely rich colour!! Yummm!! My own faux-leather trench coat doesn't have the wonderful texture of the real thing...but it's also more practical for our rainy, Vancouver winters!! ;)

  8. Can't wait to layer here in Houston. It has cooled down a lot but still not cool enough to break out the sweaters and all of my favorite layering pieces. I tend to overbuy fall attire and have to take some things back that I have recently ordered. It just doesn't stay cool long enough here to invest in a lot of warm, cozy, fuzzy shirts & sweaters! Your trench is off the hizhook...
