Trust me, you don't need to buy a new dress or a sparkly little number just to have fun. Just dig through your closet for some of my favorite party outfit go-tos below and you'll be ringing in 2015 drenched in style with only half of the stress. Seriously though, save your efforts for perfecting that great new champagne cocktail recipe, or finding the right lips to smooch at midnight instead.

Winter Chill

12.22.2014

Oleta sleeveless dress c/o BB Dakota, Thrifted Gap ombre jacket (similar here), Caldezonia over-the-knee socks, Vintage half moon belt, Livi envelope clutch c/o Reiss, Anne Klein CityGurl boots (last seen here). Shot by Scott Brasher.

It's almost Christmastime, so I thought I'd post a little tribute to the holiday by way of these snowy snaps. They were shot by one of my most talented friends behind the lens, Scott Brasher (who you might remember from some of our past shoots together here and here). On this particular day, we were working together in my office as it began to lightly snow, and Scott (being ever the creative) convinced me to bound around with him in the frosty temps. Although we both froze our asses off, I love the mood and moment he captured, and I'm so happy I got one final chance to shoot with him this year.

Alas, I've always been a firm believer that one must maintain a little bit of summer even in the middle of winter, so as some of you who follow me on Instagram might know, I've ditched the cold and I'm currently traveling around Brazil for two weeks. I'm writing this post from one of the Northernmost regions of Brazil in a little beach town called Jericoaroara, which also happens to be one of the most uniquely beautiful places I've ever visited. Can't wait to share more snaps from my stay! I'll be here 5 days then moving on to Rio and then finally Buzios for New Year's... so if I have any Brazilian readers (or travelers) out there, I'd love to hear your tips! And if you don't hear from me for a bit, Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all.

Blanched

12.17.2014

Noir jacket c/o Reiss, Zara knit, Cheap Monday jeans, Vera Wang infinity scarf (similar here), Rebecca Minkoff Carson crossbody (also seen here), Jewelmint midi ring, Sea Fan ring c/o Christina Jervey, Ann Taylor suede boots. Shot by Isaac Lacey.

I've been searching forever for the perfect neutral coat, so you can imagine my excitement when I found this one at Reiss. I love the high collar and sleek cut, and its color struts that fine line between grey, pink and beige extremely well. This outfit pretty much epitomizes my wintry mood... I'm as pale as ever, drained from work and 100% ready to escape the cold. My only relief? That my countdown to vacation has officially begun! 3 more days and I'll be basking on the beaches of Brazil... taking in as much culture and sun as I possibly can over the next two weeks. What are your holiday plans?

Stolen Heart NY

12.15.2014

Uma dress in nude and Rae top in moss by Stolen, Zara woolen hat, French Connection crossbody bag, Forever 21 ankle boots. Shot by Zhi Wei in Williamsburg and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.
With the year coming to its close in a few weeks, I've begun the arduous process of reflecting on the months past as well as visualizing next year and what I want to achieve with the blog and with my life in general. I'm honestly baffled and feel so fortunate when I think about the amount of passionate, talented and creative individuals I run into every day in this city, both through my day job and through the blog, and I'm a firm believer that everyone that we meet in life, we meet for a reason, no matter how long we wind up knowing them for. Some people are meant to teach you something about yourself, some meant to share an experience with you, and others provide you with new opportunities to learn and grow...Anyway, this shoot exists in part because of one such amazingly wonderful and random connection. I met the photographer, Z, at Lincoln Center during fashion week as he was shooting with a blogger friend of mine Amy Marrieta, and he wound up emailing me a few weeks later to see if I wanted to participate in a campaign he was working on with the Singapore-based brand Stolen. I'm so glad I agreed! Z has such an amazing eye, and I can't wait to see where it takes him. For more inspo and beautiful fashion imagery, you can follow him on Instagram herexL

The holidays are quickly making their approach, and in celebration of this festive time of year, I teamed up with Rebecca Minkoff and my girl Erica from The Fashion Philosophy to document our holiday bestie style and create a little gift guide to honor all the best friends out there. We had a blast taking these shots in and around my apartment with the help of our talented friend and photographer Spencer Kohn and, needless to say, I'm loving the results.

What's a bestie you ask? They're the people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little brighter and live a little better. And what better time to give back and thank them for always having your back? Check out my picks below... or head to RebeccaMinkoff.com to shop 20% off 2 or more items with code RMBESTIES though 12/14.

Soho Mornings

12.10.2014

TOGA rabbit fur moto jacket (also seen here), 1969 denim boyfriend shirt, Jbrand leather super skinny in coal, Logan messenger bag c/o Rebecca Minkoff, Dorothy Perkins boots (just seen here). Shot by Erica Lavelanet.

New York has been a monsoon the past few days, and of course us New Yorkers can't stop complaining about it. Freezing cold or even snow is one thing... but freezing cold, soaking wet, with a wind chill and puddles everywhere to boot? No thank you! Even those of us who could never imagine ourselves living anywhere else have started to secretly plot our escape.

Anyway, it's easy to tell these pics are from last week because the sidewalk is dry and I dared to wear a few of my most prized possessions out - number one of them being this fur moto jacket. If you've followed me for awhile you've definitely seen me sport this one before, and honestly I don't think it will ever get old in my book. It's so warm! Here, I paired it with denim and leather for a breakfast at the new Cos store in Soho that I dropped by with my girl Erica Lavelanet, who also was kind enough to shoot these pics. If you're not familiar with Erica, you have to go check out her blog The Fashion Philosophy. She's a dope stylist, has the best personal style and as proven by these pics, can even hold her own behind the camera as well. We're also working on a project together that I can't wait to share with you! More on that soon...

Anyway, til my next post, stay dry guys.

Another weekend is coming to its end, bringing us only 3 weeks away from the end of 2014... can you believe it? December is one of my favorite months however, and if you ask me it's best spent surrounded by friends and loved ones, eating gluttonously, enjoying drinks together, strolling around the city and trying to fit in everything you forgot to do earlier this year.

This weekend was full of just that kind of celebration, starting off with a dinner at Contra to celebrate a friend's engagement with a fancy, 5-course tasting menu, followed by a holiday party in the LES, late night drinks at Schillers, then a Sunday funday spent drinking our way through Chelsea Market and sampling all the local food vendors, from the raw bar at The Lobster Place to the kimchi hot dogs at Dickson's Farmstand, to the bahn mis at Num Pang sandwich shop. We just recently discovered that you can order jars of beer from The Filling Station or canned wine from or the Chelsea Wine Vault and carry it with you on your tour of the market and it's literally been life-changing. If you've never been... Go. There. Now. Because who doesn't love shopping for unique holiday gifts after a few cans of wine?
