A beach-goers paradise in the middle of nowhere, Brazil?

Happy 2015 everyone! I'm back from my trip to Brazil and my unintentional lil blog hiatus feeling rested, refreshed and ready to take on the new year. I've also been sorting through photos from my trip all weekend and can't wait to share my favorites with you over the course of the next few weeks. So let's dive right in!
I thought these beachy snaps would be the perfect kickoff to my Brazilian photo diary as they seem to best express my chill mood over the past two weeks. They were taken in the quirky, middle-of-nowhere, beach town slash windsurfing haven of Jericoacoara, a 4-hr drive north from Fortaleza (aka civilization). After 3 hrs of driving we abandoned the paved roadways, following winding paths of red dirt as they led us through the dry desert and eventually spit us out onto towering white dunes of sand that we plowed through until reaching the oasis of Jeri about an hour later. We stayed at Jeriba, a gorgeous pousada on the outskirts of town whose lush gardens, cozy lounge areas and perfect view of the beach made our time there unforgettable. There's nothing quite like waking up to the sounds of the surf outside your window, throwing on a swimsuit or a little coverup, and having no serious plans for the day besides just enjoying the sun and surf to your fullest.
