Twice the Fun

House of Harlow two-piece set c/o PacSun, Gypsy Warrior denim boyfriend jacket (similar here), Leaf halo c/o Wren + Glory, Free People boater hat, And Other Stories sunglasses, Edge of Ember cuff (similar here), Ralph Lauren Crawley bag, Nine West over-the-knee boots. Shot by Jamal Jackson.

Day two of Govball is still fresh in my mind as though it happened yesterday. Such a memorable time! Not only did my friend Jamal and I make a cameo on NYTimesFashion's Instagram account, but we also got asked to be a part of the official Governor's Ball recap film, which I've included below for your viewing pleasure. See if you can find me in it (hint: I'm at the :10 sec mark, then again at the very end)...

As for my look, I decided to keep things light for the warmest day at the festival in this two-piece set from PacSun, a pair of high boots (to combat the mud left over from the rain the previous day), and my go-to straw hat, albeit with a twist: the addition of this awesome gold leaf halo. Not only did the headpiece add a subtle flair to an otherwise basic hat, but it also helped keep the thing planted on my head while dancing or running around from stage to stage. My favorite acts from day 2? ASTR, Kiesza, Little Dragon, Atmosphere, Bjork & Flume all topped my list.

Festival Feels

Sorting through snaps from the Governor's Ball music festival last weekend was a mixed experience: at once euphoric and slightly nostalgic. The entire three days were nothing but good vibes. Between meeting a ton of super-friendly, interesting people, running into other fun-loving NY friends and bloggers, tanning and lounging on the lawn between shows, dancing away late into the night, and of course, listening to and discovering some amazing musicians, to say I enjoyed myself is a gross understatement.

These pics were snapped on the first day after braving the morning rain showers in order to catch my first act: People Under the Stairs. I've been listening to their music for over a decade, so it was a blast to see them perform! A few of my other favorite acts from day one included Gorgon City (such incredible energy and the vocals were insane), Chromeo (can you say, dance party?!), MO (damn that girl can sing!), Florence + The Machine (see previous comment) and Ratatat (whose light show alone was a whole separate attraction). And, surprisingly, I managed to keep this maxi dress relatively mud-free, which to me was the icing on a successful first day.

Graphic Blooms

Still coping with my hangover sorting through my snaps from Governor's Ball this past weekend, so until I do I'll leave you with this fun summery look. It may be a rainy Monday, but that doesn't mean you can't stop and smell the flowers... whether literally doing so or just donning a fresh floral print and calling it a day. Not sure about you, but I'm loving some of the new florals out there right now. The delicate, girly patterns from years past have been replaced with much more bold, graphic treatments like this jumpsuit I picked up from the new Gilt x Clover Canyon collaboration. I paired its fun print with a blazer and this strappy pair of sandals for an off-duty look that makes a statement while still being 100% wearable.

Check out some more floral prints that I love below, and hope your week is off to a great start!

Weekend Whites

Abercrombie sweater tank, Denim and Supply jeans, Oliver People's West sunglasses, Abercrombie wide brim hat, Beetle ring c/o Stephen Dweck (similar here), Rebecca Minkoff Carson bag, Chinese Laundry slip-on sneaker. Shot by Isaac Lacey in Keene, New Hampshire.

There are pretty much only two occasions where you'll find me wearing flats (not counting sandals, of course). One is when I'm running to my local bodega, coffee shop, or Pies & Thighs to quickly grab something before immediately returning home, and two is when I'm on vacation in a rustic place and need something easy to slip into and knock around. The slip-ons I was wearing here were perfect for doing the latter in my boyfriend's outdoorsy hometown of Keene, NH. On this sun-saturated afternoon I paired them with a trusty all-white ensemble, including what's quickly become my new favorite tank from Abercrombie. I love it's slimming, long-line cut (a little bit like the tunic I wore in my previous post), while the sweater material is surprisingly breathable and super soft. We all have that go-to item in our closet that we immediately reach for when we are being lazy but still want to look presentable, and this tank has totally become that piece for me. It's actually gotten to the point where I have to make an effort every morning to NOT immediately reach for it and slip it on. What's that go-to item for you?

Tunic Talk

Shop Tobi dress, Distressed jeans c/o Denim and Supply, Forever 21 spike choker (loving this one too), Nasty Gal boater hat (similar here), Vintage rings, Satinato sandals. Shot by Erica Lavelanet in Montauk, New York.

Coming from Cali, I really believe that there's no better feeling than the one you get after spending a long day at the beach. It's that feeling of ultimate bliss, when your skin is glowing, you're saturated with sun & surf and you don't really care what's next up on your agenda. Moments like these are fragile and easy to destroy, so I'm all about keeping things low key with a chill post-beach outfit that lets you just ride the wave. That's probably why I'm all about the tunic top. They're popping up in fun midi lengths and fab new textures, and the best part is, they're easier than ever to wear. Just throw on some distressed denim or a pair of cutoff shorts and voila! Apres-beach at its finest.

Checkout my guide below to a few of my favorite options out there right now, or pop on over to my girl Erica's blog to see how she styled the very same top...
