My guide to gallivanting around the streets of Paris like a true flaneur.

I've long been
interested in obsessed with Parisian culture. No matter where you turn, every corner of the city is bursting with historical significance, at once amazing and overwhelming. The best way to take in the city like a true Parisian? Follow the lead of the flâneur and just amble around on foot, observing the bustle, the museums, the metro stops, the grocers, the restaurants, the parks, the bridges, the monuments. Stop for a coffee or a glass of wine at a packed cafe when you get thirsty. Grab a quick bite at a tiny traiteur. Treat yourself to a something sweet at a cute patisserie. Window-shop in the Marais. Find a bench in a quiet park to sit and watch passerby. The only agenda worth having is to keep moving forward, allowing yourself to discover something new by simple observation and, eventually, immersion.
That said, 'til next time, Paris!
