A few tried-and-true tips for those who need a little extra motivation to get dressed this winter.
ASOS shearling gilet, Nicole Miller mixed media coat (similar here), Uniqlo turtleneck top, Thrifted Rag and Bone jeans, ASOS leather tote (I love this one too), Forever 21 choker, Schutz booties. Shot by Isaac Lacey.
I think it's that time of year when everyone starts to get bored sick of their closets. Protecting yourself from below-zero wind isn't exactly the best motivation to get dressed in the morning, plus you don't exactly want to wear your nicer clothes or accessories out into the elements... (In other news, we did just get our first snow of the season. Woohoo!)
Point is: winter makes it all too easy to just fall into a rut and start wearing the same coat and jeans combo, so I'm personally a huge fan of forcing yourself to think differently when it comes to your closet this season. Put away the things you find yourself donning the most, and bring forward those fun pieces you've yet to wear out, whether they're bright colors, bold prints, layering pieces to add a little dimension (think: vests, scarves and hats) or even coat and jacket combos you've never thought to put together. Here I layered a choker over my favorite turtleneck and a statement shearling vest over my go-to black coat to add a little variety and texture to an otherwise all-black ensemble. You'd be surprised what a little closet reorganization can do to revive your clothing creativity!
