Taking a moment to appreciate the Earth and its finer things.

It seems like human nature to not fully appreciate the value of something until it's gone. Whether we're talking about friendships, memories, boyfriends... the list goes on and on. But it's an especially scary thought when you think about that statement in relationship to the Earth we live on.

Sure, we all appreciate a little outdoors every now and then, whether it's frolicking in the ocean's cool waves, basking in the last light of a sunset or cherishing the first signs of Spring. But to truly appreciate this planet we live on means trying to leave the smallest footprint possible. It means doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint. Reusing when we can, recycling when we cannot and cutting down on waste in general. Admitting that global warming is a real thing and taking active steps to address it.

Not sure about you, but I'm so looking forward to the Paris climate accord getting signed today and hopefully put into action soon. Our Earth depends on it, as does the future of the human race. That said, Happy Earth Day guys! Get out there and bask in Mother Nature any way you can!

  4. It is a bittersweet revelation to realize something or someone's worth after they are gone. We can not fully appreciate their value until their absence. Good points about appreciating the Earth and what we are given.
