Somewhere between Nice & Monaco, this sunny seaside town won my heart.

With Memorial Day behind us, I'm happy to say it's finally starting to feel like summer! Cue the weekend getaway planning, rooftop bbqs, picnics, tanning sessions, and just general happiness. Those muggy days that transform into sweaty nights. The occasional, slight breeze that rustles the trees, providing five seconds of relief from the relentless sun. The welcome caress of an ice-cold glass of rose soothing your parched throat. Festivals! Beach! Ice cream! Swimsuits!
... can you tell what my favorite season is?
That said, it seems like the perfect time to share with you the last installment of my travel diary from my trip to the French Riviera in May. There's something about these photos that perfectly captures the spirit of summer for me. Maybe it's the bright light. Maybe it's the stunning views of the town of Villefranche from our villa. Or maybe the images just transport me back to experiencing the onset of my favorite season in a small town; Waking up with the sun already beating down on you, walking to town to pick up the freshest baked baguettes and some croissant, stocking up on fresh berries for the picnic you're planning at the shore later, dining on freshly grilled fish on your patio at night while watching the waves.
If you ever make it to the region, do yourself a favor and at least drop into Villefranche for the day, walk around the old town, check out the Chapelle Cocteau, then grab a fresh bite at Les Garcons. Looking to chill a little longer? The villa we stayed in was a literal dream come true.
