Taking Lord & Taylor's Contemporary collection for a spin at New York's greatest music festival.

Day 1 outfit details: Blank NYC shortalls, Design Lab ruffled crop top, Free People jacket, Quay sunglasses, Steven Madden crossbody bag, Marc Fisher boots all c/o Lord & Taylor. Day 2 outfit details: BCBGeneration shift dress, Vintage headband (similar here), Brian Atwood fringe bag, Splendid booties all c/o Lord & Taylor.
Festivals and fashion pretty much go hand-in-hand these days. So when Lord & Taylor asked me to partner with them to highlight a few favorite pieces from their Design Lab/ Contemporary collections at The Governor's Ball Music Festival this past weekend in NYC, how could I say no?
In the end, I opted for two laid-back looks that would be equally fashionable and functional. The first day I went for a shortall, ruffled crop & embroidered jacket combo, while the second day I kept things simple and sweet in a patterned shift dress, fringe bag and head wrap. On my feet I went for the comfiest boots I could find, knowing that I would spend much of the festival on-the-go, whether running from show-to-show or dancing my heart out to every set. A few of my favorite acts this year? Jamie XX, Years & Years, Big Grams, Duke Dumont, Beck, Marian Hill, Misterwives, The Knocks (w/ special guest Wyclef Jean!), De La Soul, Miike Snow... the list seriously goes on and on. It truly was a jam-packed weekend.
In the end, even though Govball was sadly cut short (day 3 was cancelled due to weather conditions), I'll never forget the other two days I spent there, soaking up the good vibes, meeting up and bumping into friends old & new, dancing into the night. We were fueled by the festival's vibrant energy, the beats pumping in the distance. Every show felt like a chance to let loose; to dance out the stress of the week and get lost in the music. It was a whirlwind of a weekend and one that I know I'll keep revisiting in my mind for a while. A huge thanks to Lord & Taylor for making it all possible!
