Govball cancelled? Perfect excuse to take Lord and Taylor for a tour around my part of town.
Kendall and Kylie jumpsuit, Foley and Corrina crossbody bag, Marc Fisher booties all c/o Lord and Taylor, Nasty Gal hat (similar here), vintage jewelry. Shot by Isaac Lacey.
When things don't go your way, or as you expected, it's all too easy to succumb to the pressure, roll over and just give up. This notion applies to so many things in life: whether it's that job you were itching to get and didn't, that breakup that came out of nowhere and threw you for a loop, or those weekend plans you'd been looking forward to forever that got cancelled last minute.
Such was the situation when these pics were taken last Sunday. I woke up early, ready to head to day 3 of the Governor's Ball music festival with Lord and Taylor, when I received a text on my phone saying that the festival might be cancelled. A few hours later and indeed... it was.
Instead of heading back to bed to sulk about the shitty weather and not fulfilling my Kanye dreams, I got up, got dressed in my festival garb anyway, grabbed Isaac and cheered us up by roaming around the neighborhood to a few of our favorite spots. We stopped in for a coffee at Devocion. Walked to the waterfront and took in the view. Indulged in a little retail therapy. Stuffed my face with amazing tacos.
At the end of the day, it might not have been as epic as an all-day dance party to a few of my favorite musicians, but it certainly felt good to get up, get dressed in my Sunday finest (how amazing are the details on this jumpsuit? - PS it also comes in black) and take advantage of everything the day had to offer. How do you cope when things don't go quite as you planned?
