If you've followed my blog or Insta for awhile, you've undoubtedly noticed my obsession with Montauk. (If not, my past posts here and here will fill you in.) So when Tasting Table invited me out a few weekends ago for a day of brunchin, boozin & poolside hangs at The Montauk Beach House, it really didn't take much for me to say yes. I grabbed my new favorite swimsuit, a chic coverup, a pair of cutoffs, my go-to beach hat & my always-down-for-an-adventure girlfriend Yanina and was ready for whatever came my way.
And leave it to Tasting Table to throw a party! The private Jitney we took out was a fun mashup of food writers, fashion bloggers, foodies & just stylish New Yorkers in general, all unaware of the fact that cabanas full of copious amounts of food and beverages awaited us at our final destination. As you can see above, it didn't take long for me to change into my swimsuit, get my hair wet, and enjoy signature beverages by the likes of Belvedere Vodka, SeaGlass Wines, Brooklyn Brewery Beer, San Pellegrino and Pure Leaf Tea. We also feasted on grilled goodies & snacks by Citarella, and coma-inducing desserts by Ice & Vice. So pretty much, I pigged out.
All it took was a few drinks for Yanina and I to decide we never wanted to return to the city, and somehow we lucked out finding an Airbnb in the area instead! We bid adieu to our gracious hosts, checked in to our new accommodations, cleaned ourselves up and headed out to Gurney's to attend Dan's Summer Clambake as guests of DCS/ Fischer & Paykel (check out the scene in my snap below & to the left). After a few more hours of libations and culinary delights, we headed out to a few bars then back to our Airbnb, fully satiated and only a little sunburned. The next day we woke up, had brunch and spent the rest of our Sunday laid out at Sole East's pool (pictured on the below right), unwinding from a crazy 24-hours we won't soon forget. Montauk, I still love you.
