Festival Nostalgia

Reliving my favorite Govball NYC 2017 moments with French Connection, Forever 21, Minkpink, a few of my besties & all the music. Download or listen to my Govball '17 playlist here.

Look 1: French Connection Hennessy drape dress, Perret utility jacket, boots and Hoyt rope tote, Sunday Somewhere sunglasses, Vintage belt. Shot by Frankie Marin for French Connection and Melodie Jeng. // Look 2: Forever 21 gingham off-shoulder top, grommet shorts, cabbie hatrose-heeled boots, Ralph Lauren bucket bag. // Look 3: Minkpink cropped lace jumpsuit, ASOS studded jacket, Henri Bendel crossbody bag, French Connection boots.

Confession: I've never been to Coachella. Despite my love for festivals, live music and boho style, it slowly began losing its appeal to me about 6 years ago and I haven't seriously considered going since. I guess it helped that, around the time my interest started waning, our friend Jordan launched a New York-based festival meant to serve as the Big Apple's answer to Coachella: Governor's Ball. A live music, 3-day extravaganza taking place just a stone's throw from my spot in Brooklyn? I was sold from the start.

Since those early days, Govball has taken off, booking bigger and bigger acts every year and quickly becoming a playground for the city's style set. Even though it's started to blow up, I appreciate that the event still has a homespun vibe to it.  I inevitably wind up bumping into a bunch of friends and neighbors just walking around the grounds, I've got a favorite bar and bartender who hooks it up between sets (love you Zach!), and everyone just seems a tad more chill in comparison to the chichi-celeb-model-fest that Coachella has become.

Already looking forward to next year, but until then I'll be listening to the below playlist on repeat! Featuring a compilation of my favorite performances from this year, it quickly brings me back to those few carefree days in early June...
